Late summer to mid autumn brings a bountiful harvest of wild mushrooms, berries and herbs to the area. The fantastic feeling of preparing and eating a delicious feast that you, yourself, have gathered in the beautiful mountains of the French Alps makes dinner that little bit more special.

Wild Chanterelles (Cantharellus Cibarius), Oyster Mushrooms (Pleurotus Ostreatus) and the king of them all, Wild Ceps (Boletus Edulis) are just some of the mushrooms that grow in the region.  Around this time of year, wild berries are also plentiful. We may even be able to pick enough wild alpine strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and blackberries for our dessert!

During this week we offer special 'Fitness and Foraging' packages. Couples can come and decide whether to join an accompanied road cycling tour through one of the many breathtaking routes, or to join in on a wild food foraging excursion. Here we can teach you what to look for, where to look for it, but most importantly how to cook it!

'Fitness' activities can include road cycling, mountain running or hiking. 'Foraging' activities can include strolls through the hills searching for the various and delicious wild foods on offer, cooking demonstrations and even some outings around the region sightseeing.

Prices are £350 per person for half board.

Book now for your wild and tasty week away.
