Cycling & Mountain biking

Mountain biking is huge here in the Portes du Soleil. Morzine, being right in the centre of this vast area is the perfect choice for mountain bikers.

With 27 chairlifts operating in the region and many of them serving permanent downhill mtb tracks, you are certainly spoilt for choice.

This region has hosted a few big mtb races over the years from small local regional and National series to World Cup rounds and even UCI World Championships. The entire area is set up so well to accommodate every class and level of rider.

Road riding is also immensely popular here with stunning climbs and descents following Tour de France routes. Cross country riders will love the endless miles of flowing singletrack taking you away from the bustle of tourism. For the Freeriders, there are many options - from the wooden structures of Pré la Joux and Morgins to fast and flowing ridge line descents, freeriders will be a happy bunch.

Downhillers will soon realise that this area is one of the best places in the world to bring their bikes. With numerous taped-out permanent downhill courses and countless 'private' tracks, you could ride all week without riding the same track twice. Of course you won't want to do that, the tracks are so fun you'll want to do them over and over again to get your lines dialled in.

Chalet Adonis has the ideal set-up for mountain bikers in the summertime, the first choice for several professional cyclists, race teams and film groups. We are on hand to advise on the best places to ride (or even to accompany you), you can make the most of your stay. Whether you are here for training purposes or just riding, you will love it. Why not use our place as a reward for doing well in the season? As a great base for training for up-coming races? As a chill-out period for those rare quiet moments in between races? Too many reasons.
